Busy , way too busy!

Sigh- seems it all happens at once! Our Ford Windstar that we bought new 10 years ago died painlessly. I had hoped it would have lasted a few more months. So we bought this at a great deal and since it was the last day of the month , 2009 models coming in and God's perfect timing and answer to prayer - we bought this beauty!

It looks black , but in the sun it is a dark metallic blue - so pretty! We also have an 8 year 120,000 mile warranty too. The interior is grey and I love driving it - it is a dream!

In the meantime , I have been so blessed to have some dear friends sacrifice their time to help me dig out my Mom's house. We have worked days up there and are having a garage sale thurs, frid and sat. . I can't fit anymore in the garage and I could fill it up about 20 times over. So overwhelming!

I just want to urge all Christians to intercede for our country this month, regardless of party affiliation. Never before has there been such a need for Christians to research the issues and pray and get out and vote. Our country is teetering on the brink of crisis- economic, etc..

Okay- back to work as I am having foot surgery Monday and will not be able to do much after- which sounds great about now. lol

A new blog , new beginning.....

I just gave up on my other blog! When I had to quit designing at the Digital Scrapbook Artisan Guild due to my mother's health and subsequent death , I also quit my blog. There was just not enough time in the day for everything. Shortly after that the DSAG store closed and I could not fathom the amount of work it would have taken to move my stuff to a new store. During that time , I was sole caretaker of my Mom and spent my days taking care of her and moving her from hospital to nursing homes. All were about 30 to 40 minutes each way and I also went to my daughter's basketball games too. During that time my Mom developed dementia and was unable to walk. Due to Illinois law, I was unable to use any of her money to build on to my home to care for her. The state would have made me pay it back or sell my home in the event she had to be placed in a home or hospital! A nightmare! I was paying almost 6000 dollars a month for substandard care for a half a room, awful food and for the most part - lazy staff. There were a few that cared well for the patients just not many. When my Mom found out that her savings were draining away and she had no future to return home- she told me she was just going to die so they could not get her money. Shortly after she lapsed in a coma and did.

Currently- I am trying to go through her home which is packed full of things so that I can sell it. The problem is that I do not have much time to do that , it is overwhelming with Ben , no help , it is extremely depressing , an hour drive total and I have baseball and basketball games to fit in also. So mainly - I avoid it.LOL
On a brighter note, my eldest got a full baseball scholarship to Robert Morris College ! He wanted to stay close to home and be around for his girlfriend. We are happy to be able to see his home games. He will be traveling quite a bit. He is taking business classes.

The summer was fun- my family visited from VA. , we went to family camp on the 4th of July and we went to the Fair. The highlight of the summer was installing a pool and a deck. I will be posting pics a little at a time. Unfortunately , the summer was unusually cool and rainy so we did not get to swim as much as we could have. I am looking forward to lots of pool fun and parties next year!

My eldest is 6 foot 4 , so the pool is pretty deep-58inches.
